My project for now is to make a pvc fipple out of full plastic parts. I have an idea, but it might require more manufacturing than I wanted. Most of that would be to handle spit/condensation. I hate that.
What I want is to make it out of pieces you can buy at the hardware store, and modify with a file or saw, then screw or glue together to make a functioning fipple.
"Fipple" in this case means the whole assembly from mouthpeice to labium.
I'll be using 1/2 inch CPVC and working mostly with pipe threaded parts. I envision it as a centralized mouthpiece, with a small chamber before the windway, which would be filed into the pipe threads, leading to the labium. This will require a plug of some sort, which is normally made out of wood, and exposed. I want mine to be PVC and attached to the pipe in an adjustable fashion.
This may require tapping threads on the inside of the threaded CPVC, we'll have to see.
Time for school, more later.
